Despite the stormy weather, our location in Zwolle was officially opened yesterday afternoon to great interest. This new site is the second office in the Netherlands. With this, we strengthen our national coverage. The step follows the expected increase in rail work in the northern part of the country.
Logical step
Under the name Swietelsky Rail Benelux North East, our second location in the Netherlands is a fact. Since the establishment of Swietelsky Rail Benelux in 2010, the location in Oisterwijk, Brabant, has always been the home base. "At that time, Oisterwijk was chosen as the geographical center of the Benelux," says Operational Director Niek Lentink in his opening speech. "We have come a long way since then and are no longer just a BBV contractor, but an all-round contractor where all rail disciplines are represented. We anticipate a growing market in this region, so the logical step is to establish ourselves here.”
More attractive employer
From the new location, Swietelsky Rail Benelux wants to pay more attention to its further growth. Rail projects are taking place all over the country. Niek: “That means our people often have to travel a lot. We already have colleagues and partners from the north and east of the country, but they now always have to travel to Brabant for the office. With this new location, we also want to be a more attractive employer and partner and offer them a sustainable commuting distance.”
Opening
We ultimately found a suitable location at Nipkowstraat 9. On the southeast side of Zwolle, close to main roads and with good accessibility by public transport. After the official opening ceremony by Richard and Arne, guests were able to explore the building and view the art that adorns it. These artworks symbolize the connection between machine, human, and collaboration. Guests also enjoyed the beautiful ambiance, music, snacks, and drinks.
