Upgrade of the Maaslijn

Swietelsky Rail Benelux is working on behalf of ProRail to improve the 'Maaslijn'. This is the railway line between Nijmegen and Roermond. By electrifying the existing track, doubling the track in some places and improving level crossing safety, the Maaslijn will become faster, more reliable and more sustainable.

Rail Track Stability Pilot

Commissioned by ProRail, Swietelsky Rail Benelux is working in Hurdegaryp together with Haskoning and Boskalis Nederland to strengthen the rail track and railway embankment using geotextile-encased stone columns. This innovative geotechnical technique provides sustainable subsoil stabilisation without opening up the track, causing minimal disruption to rail traffic.

Wunderline

The Wunderline is the rail connection between Groningen and Bremen (Germany). Several projects are underway to deliver a better service, with a reliable timetable, shorter travel times, and greater comfort. The improved rail link will make the train a strong alternative to the car. Work on the Dutch side of the project has been ongoing since 2020 and is divided into several phases and sub-contracts.
