Project Eindhoven-Blerick successfully completed

22.10.2023

From Saturday, October 14 to Monday, October 23, we worked with a large number of partners on the Eindhoven-Blerick project. A project with a substantial scope where work regularly took place at multiple locations simultaneously.

Some numbers in a row

  • 2214 meters of sleepers and ballast renewed;

  • 646 meters of single-legged rail renewed;

  • 2380 meters of double-legged rail renewed;

  • 8493 meters of track branch renewed;

  • 9793 meters of inspection path renewed;

  • ± 23,000 tons of quartz-free ballast introduced;

  • 898 meters of drainage installed and track tex applied on site.

Use of machines

In addition to a large enthusiastic team of people, we also used our innovative machines. The SMD 80, RM 85, 09-4X stopping machine (including BDS and EMSAT) were deployed. Additionally, several wagons and the Carel (loc) were used for the transport of the ballast. The Hydrema rail dumper for dust suppression (rail-road vehicle with loading box) was also used to complete this large task on time.

Badger sett

One of the challenges of the project was the presence of a badger sett in the work area. We took the necessary measures for this. No work was done at this location between sunset and sunrise, and badger gates and wildlife cameras were installed.

Thanks to the tireless commitment and flexibility of our employees and partners, we were able to successfully complete this challenging project, and the tracks were back in service on time.
