Traction substation Cuijk

As part of the electrification of the Maaslijn we are going to build a traction substation at Cuijk station. The substation will be a building measuring 22.3m by 5.8m, which will blend into the surroundings thanks to its green cladding.

In late summer 2025, the preparatory groundworks took place. An access road to the substation was excavated and constructed, and the building pit for the substation was dug out. 

A concrete foundation was then poured to support the building. The structural work – timber frame construction – has been completed and the building has been fitted with a roof. The exterior is currently being finished, after which work will begin on fitting out the substation.
