Design & Innovation: control over railway design

Design & Innovation (D&I) is the internal engineering firm of Swietelsky Rail Benelux. We strengthen projects from the earliest stage. Here we lay the foundation for feasible, safe, and efficient rail projects. We translate contract requirements and client ambitions into feasible designs. With knowledge from outside and insight from inside the implementation.

Engineering power in the tender and design phase

The D&I department increases our effectiveness in the tender and design phase. This is precisely where the most important choices are made. Choices that later make the difference in quality, costs, and planning.

We provide engineering activities for multiple railway disciplines and guide the process from initial sketch to realization. With control, overview, and technical depth.

From contract to implementation design

A railway project can be compared to a construction kit. The contract determines what needs to be built. O&I draws up the construction plan.

Everything starts with the alignment: the fictitious track axis. This forms the common thread for all disciplines and is the basis of every design. From there, we develop the design in an integrated manner.
