Energy supply

A reliable energy supply is essential for rail traffic. At Rail Systems, we build and maintain installations that supply energy to the railways.

The national energy grid supplies alternating current. The railways operate on direct current. Our installations convert and distribute this energy so that trains can run safely and continuously.

Our activities within energy supply:

New construction, renovation, and maintenance of (traction) substations
High-voltage installations for overhead lines and railway installations

Cables & pipelines

Cables and pipelines form the underground network of the railway. They connect systems and ensure that information and energy are available in the right place.

We work on complex, often multidisciplinary projects. Regularly in urban environments, where technology, environment, and planning come together.

Overhead wires

Overhead wires supply electric trains with energy. Within Rail Systems, we install overhead wires and catenary systems that meet the highest standards of safety and reliability.

We work on new construction, renewal, and connection of overhead wires, often within tightly scheduled service interruptions.

Train safety

Train safety forms the foundation of safe rail traffic. At Rail Systems, we design, implement, and maintain systems that control train movements and manage risks. We work on complex installations that combine technology, software, and infrastructure.
